Cisco Linksys SPA 3102 VOIP Gateway Configuration Setup Guide

1-General Description and Advantages 

The Linksys SPA3102 features the ability to connect standard telephones and fax machines to VOIP  networks ,This Voip gateway can change you use VOIP to make calls. Linksys SPA-3102 is a cool little device that can convert your analog phone line  or fax machine into a SIP trunk into your trixbox or Asterisk PBX system.
The 3102 unit offers the following features:
ATA:  allows one to use analog phone line  or fax machine on a voice over IP network,
VoIP gateway : It can let you connect VOIP and PSTN seamlessly and hijack into PSTN network
-Linksys SPA3102 users will be able to leverage their broadband phone service more than ever by automatically routing local calls from mobile phones and land lines over to VoIP service providers and vice versa
-A user calling from a mobile phone or land line will be able to reduce and even eliminate international and long distance telephone charges by first calling their SPA3102 via a local telephone number.
2-Configuration Setup Guide
 1- RJ-11 Telephone Cable 
 2-Telephone Handset
 3- RJ-45 Ethernet Cable 
 4- AC Power Adapter 
2-2 Basic Configuration
•Connect an analogue phone to the Linksys "phone" port
•Using the analogue phone, press "****", and after the greeting message press 110#  ,You will now hear a message giving you the IP address of of the adapter such as  "".
•Now point your browser to the gateway device's configuration page: "http://x.x.x.x", where "x.x.x.x" is the IP address of the adapter
• Log into the Linksys 3102 VoIP Router with the username of “user”
• Password is Blank

•Ensure the Router Is set to DHCP by clicking on WAN setup

• click on the "Admin Login" link on the top right hand side of the page. This will provide the basic administration configuration version of the interface

•click on the "Voice" tap

•Now click on the "advanced" link

-Click the "Line 1" tab to configure the Linksys as an ATA for use with your analogue phone

Line Enable: Yes
Sip  Port :5060
Proxy: Enter Proxy Server Address
Register: Yes
Register Expires: 240
Scroll to Subscriber Information, and edit:
Display Name: Your Name (this name can appear on Caller ID).
User ID: User ID (your user ID)
Password: passw0rd (your password)
Use Auth ID: yes (most providers support Auth ID, those that don’t should set to no)
Auth ID: User ID (its nearly always user ID)
Scroll to Audio Configuration, edit:
Preferred Codec: G729
DTMF method which is set to “Auto”
By default the Linksys 3102 VoIP router does not have a password, to set up a password browse to
the “Voice” tab and then selected “System”
You can now type a password into the “user password” field   Once you have applied these settings, click on the “Submit All Changes” button (located at the bottom of each page) and the router will save all the changes and reboot, you will then be able to make VoIP calls
