  Yes it sure does. Since everyone does not have a dedicated fax machine in their home, only install Windows XP Fax by using the Add/Remove Windows Component utility in Control Panel and Your computer must have a dial-up modem. 







 -Installing Windows XP’s fax program
Step1. Click on the Start Button and click on Control Panel.
Step2. Double Click Add or Remove Programs.
Step3. Click on Add/Remove Windows Components.
 Step4. In the Windows Components Wizard check the box next to Fax Services. Click Next.

Step5. A message will appear to insert the Windows XP CD. Click the OK button.
Step6. The Wizard will continue to install. When it completes click Finish.
Step7. Your Fax Services are now installed. You can find them by clicking on the Start button, choose All programs and Accessories, choose Communications, and then choose Fax.
  Now  A fax icon will then appear in your Printers and Faxes folder


For instance, to fax a letter you’ve written in Word or WordPad, choose Print from the File menu. You’ll see the a fax icon, Choose the fax icon as your printer, and the Fax Configuration Wizard appears. The Wizard guides you through filling out a “cover letter” form, then it sends your fax.
How to Receive a Fax in Windows xp :
Step1-Choose All Programs from the Start menu.--> Accessories--> Communications->Fax-->Fax Console.
Step2-Select "Tools," and then choose "Fax monitor."
Step3-Select "Answer now" in the Fax Monitor dialog box to receive the fax.When a fax arrives, a little fax icon appears on your taskbar near the clock, and a message alerts you to its arrival.
